Turleigh, near Winsley: Structural Reconfiguration & Modern Studio

Located in the heart of Turleigh, near Winsley, this project involved a significant structural reconfiguration to create a unified kitchen and living space. By knocking out the original rear wall and extending the footprint, we transformed the home’s flow while maintaining its traditional Cotswold character.

Technical Mastery: Solving Site Levels

The project was defined by restrictive access and complex site levels. With tight working conditions, our team utilised decades of experience to make critical on-site decisions, ensuring the architectural vision was realised without the need for constant architectural oversight.

  • Structural Innovation: We managed extensive groundworks and the installation of new patios featuring integrated planter beds.
  • Thermal Garage Conversion: An old concrete garage was completely rebuilt and thermally insulated to create a high-spec, modern studio and bathroom.
  • Internal Flow: The new layout features a bespoke modern kitchen and a seamless transition from the studio into the living areas.

Precision Under Pressure

Working from the initial drawings, Sage Developments took full autonomy of the build. We navigated the challenges of varying ground heights and structural knock-throughs to deliver a home that feels both expansive and grounded in its hillside setting.

The Result

The Turleigh project demonstrates the Sage ability to solve technical problems autonomously. By balancing complex groundworks with premium internal finishes, we delivered a versatile living and working space that provides long-term thermal efficiency and aesthetic beauty.
